  17. Yes, yes, yes! First you tell us the rpice for the hardware is so high
  18. because the system software is SO GOOD. Now, after releasing a System
  19. Version that was $100 to buy and had bad bugs in essential parts like the
  20. file system and banging us with lots of Tune-Ups which were
  21. 'Bug-Corrects' really, you start splitting the system into tiny little
  22. parts and selling them to us for even higher prices!

  24. Listen, I won't take this much longer! Do go on with PowerPC, Pink and
  25. others! Become cross-platform because then many of us will start
  26. switching to a cheaper platform. You ARE good, but you are not the only
  27. computer factory in the world. QuickDraw GX has been necessary for YEARS
  28. now. People have been yelling for AppleScript since the Mac exists. So
  29. include them into the system and give them for free.

  31. I as a mac maniac, -lover and -programmer, I want to be able to say one
  32. day 'ok, current system version is 9.0. If you want to run this program,
  33. you need version 7.1 at least, to have QuickDraw GX'. Why do you make
  34. life for us programmers so difficult by not providing such an essential
  35. functionality as a drawing environment to EVERY user.

  37. If you want some money for OCE - ok. Not everyone needs OCE. But don't
  38. take these huge sums you want for QuickTime and ARA. QuickTime Starter
  39. Kit is 390 franks over here, which is some $280 for a STARTER kit. And
  40. who wants a CD with a starter kit? Who's got a CD drive anyway? Maybe you
  41. over in USA, but prices in europe are still much too high for the average
  42. user! The difference between buying a mac in USA or Europe can be as high
  43. as 100%! I'm not talking localized versions here; I'm talking USA-Macs!

  45. Please forgive me for yelling at you, but I'm getting more and more
  46. frustrated. Tell your bosses that they become more and more like IBM. The
  47. only thing (yet) missing are the clones. And if they go on like this I'll
  48. be the first one to buy a clone. Up to now I told everyone who said 'Macs
  49. are much too expensive': 'Yes, but the software is SO cheap'. I'll stop
  50. that for the moment. Peripherals are still within an acceptable price
  51. range, but CPUs and (system) software is getting far beyond the borders.

  54. go to work and repackage that system 7.1 :-))) And have a nice day.
