- There is a modifier key, namely Command-Option, which will ask you if
- you want to rebuild the desktop. If you look at the "Finder
- Shortcuts" menu item it describes this on page 5. I guess this is a
- case of "RTFM" where "M" is the menu. :-) I occasionally rebuild my
- desktop and it takes under two minutes for about 80 MB. I use a
- freeware extension that automatically saves all my "Finder Comments".
- Most of the time I rebuild the desktop is because of an updated
- application that has new icons which I want to have visible.

- I've been using System 7 for a year and haven't had to re-install it.
- It's been very stable for me.
