- The Map Control Panel sets your Mac's time zone.
- This is a somewhat superflous (IMO) variable to control.
-
- To use:
- 1. Set the System clock with General Controls or Alarm Clock.
- 2. In the Map Control Panel, type the name of the city you
- currently inhabit.
- 3. If that city is not recognized, type the name of some
- major city in that time zone.
- 4. Hit the "Set" button.
-
- You can replace the B&W default map with the color one in
- the Scrapbook. Just copy the color map & paste it into
- the Map window.
-
- Most people never even bother with this Control Panel. The
- only application I've seen to which the time zone was an issue
- is AutoClock, which keeps your internal clock on track by
- dialing up to an atomic clock in Washington, D.C. AutoClock
- needs to know the time zone to calculate the offset & daylight
- savings.
