- Howdy all.
-
- I know this isn't specifically about Macs (or Apple) but considering the
- amount of posturing Apple has done with DEC regarding supposed
- interconnection products and so on, I thought it would be interesting to
- pass this info along and get some comments on it.
-
- DEC announced yesterday they had a loss of 1.8 BILLION dollars!!! Yeah,
- that's BILLION with a 'B'. Now to IBM, that may not be the end of the
- world, but how long is DEC going to survive with losses like that?
-
- They finally convinced Ken Olsen to step aside ("PC's? Who needs PCs??"),
- but is the damage already done?
-
- I'm very interested in all of this. I don't regularly follow DEC, but this
- news turned my head. Could someone who knows more about the relative
- financial health of DEC care to comment?
-
- Do they have any new products in the works that may bring customers back to
- the fold?
-
- Just curious.
