- There supposedly will be a development system for Newton users to make
- their own "applications" for specialized uses. It will run on Macs
- and Windows, and will apparently require about as much programming
- skill as developing HyperCard applications. There is some conjecture
- that small customizing houses might open up to do this for users, just
- like there are small desktop publishing businesses now. But if you
- can script in Hypercard or develop a 4D database, you should be able
- to do it yourself.
-
- Keep in mind that these won't really be separate applications in the
- usual sense. You will develop custom "forms" that lie in the same
- database "pile" for the entire Newton. The maps of the New York City
- subway, the fax program, and the address book all run off the same
- "program."
