- It seems that everyone either wants a minimal cost, minimal
- size, minimal weight machine -- in which case they get a 100 -- or something
- as powerful as possible -- in which case they get a 170.
-
- Unless they want a reasonably powerful machine but *not* the crappy, faulty
- Active Matrix screen, in which case they buy a 140, like me.
-
- The 68030 in the 140 isn't much of a gain, because I wouldn't want to run
- virtual memory and have my hard disk spinning all the time. And apart from
- that and a slightly larger screen, the 140 doesn't really have anything over
- the 100... when I tried the two side by side, it wasn't really noticably
- faster.
-
- The 140 is more solid physically, the bigger screen size is nice, the trackball
- is better mechanically, it has two serial ports and Colour QD support. What it
- also has is the bl**dy serial port hardware bug which doesn't seem to affect
- the '100.

- P.S. I like the top 10 ripoffs. I'll check the music software rags and get back
- to you. I think I can find products which are (i) cripped and (ii) have a
- 200% markup, which would be a No. 1. chart entry, I think.
