- Just to try and clarify things a little.
-
- In System 6 days there was The Namer and Font Downloader (perhaps later
- called the LaserWriter Font Utility too?).
-
- In System 7 days there is the LaserWriter Font Utility that comes with
- System 7 (tucked away on the Tidbits disk I believe -- it is certainly
- not installed on your hard disk as part of the standard install
- procedure). This lets you manipulate fonts, printers' disks, startup
- pages, etc..
-
- There is a SEPARATE program called the LaserWriter Utility which includes
- all (I believe) the functionality of the LaserWriter Font Utility and
- more besides. It is this that also includes the "Name printer" stuff.
-
- The LaserWriter Utility is available on ftp.apple.com (if you search for
- it). Another poster supplied the path of:
- /dts/mac/sys.soft/imaging/laserwriter-utility.hqx
