- Okay... got my NTR yesterday, checked out the manual which said it has
- 3 Meg ROM and 3 Meg RAM, expandable to 4 Meg (standard 72-pin, 80ns SIMM).
- Checked out the controller board, and yea verily, one SIMM with 8 chips
- on it. Is this a 1 meg SIMM with 2 megs on the controller board? Or is
- it a 2 meg SIMM with 1 meg on the motherboard? Hmmm... in the first case,
- I'll need a 2 meg SIMM to upgrade, in the latter, a 4 meg SIMM (with one
- meg unaddressable... not unlike the LCII's unaddressable 2 megs). Is
- this a standard 8-bit SIMM?
-
- Well... back to the manual. What's this? WARNING: Do not attempt to
- install additional RAM yourself. Doing so will void the limited warranty.
- No info on the SIMM's! Yeah, I know Apple's scared to death of static
- with this thing (you should see all the warnings in the controller
- installation info and the "anti-static" cover for the parallel port),
- but SIMM installation isn't that grim, especially in a damp basement
- with a good ground strap.
-
- Bah, humbug. Anyone have any info on the NTR SIMM's? Would definitely
- be appreciated.
