- I have quite a bit of experience with serial connections, but I want to
- tap the net.wisdom before whipping out my breakout box and going thr the
- serial connection macinations...
-
- Does anyone know the correct connections for hooking a mac to another DTE
- device such as a Sparcstation 1? Can I get away with the standard "modem"
- connection - transmit crossed to recieve and vice versa, plus ground? Or
- will I need a more elaborate null modem type connection?
-
- I have an HP cable that has Mini-DIN8 on one side and DB25 on the other; I
- assume that the pins are mapped to make sense in terms of the standard
- DB25 pin configuration. If anyone has the correct pin mapping for the DB25
- on the mac side to DB25 on the sparc side, or even just the DIN8 to DB25
- mapping, I'd love to get it.
-
- email or posts are ok.
