  13. I have quite a bit of experience with serial connections, but I want to
  14. tap the net.wisdom before whipping out my breakout box and going thr the
  15. serial connection macinations...
  16.  
  17. Does anyone know the correct connections for hooking a mac to another DTE
  18. device such as a Sparcstation 1? Can I get away with the standard "modem"
  19. connection - transmit crossed to recieve and vice versa, plus ground? Or
  20. will I need a more elaborate null modem type connection?

  22. I have an HP cable that has Mini-DIN8 on one side and DB25 on the other; I
  23. assume that the pins are mapped to make sense in terms of the standard
  24. DB25 pin configuration. If anyone has the correct pin mapping for the DB25
  25. on the mac side to DB25 on the sparc side, or even just the DIN8 to DB25
  26. mapping, I'd love to get it.
