  23. My fiance is a Mac programmer. He has an APS Portable drive that he's 
  24. constantly hauling back and forth from work on his motorcycle, eighty
  25. miles a day. It's a small case, 2" x 6" x 8" with the power supply 
  26. included in the box, not separate. He used to pack it in its original
  27. foam before putting it in his backpack, but now he just drops it alone 
  28. in his backpack for the ride home. It's held up quite well for the 
  29. four months he's been toting it between home and work. I'd suggest getting
  30. an extra power cable so you can leave one at home and have one at work.
  31. The APS drive takes the same power cable as any Macintosh, it should be
  32. easy to find an extra cable since Apple now packs two in the LC boxes.
  33. Unfortunately, APS is remanufacturing their Portable case and that config-
  34. uration won't be available for at least a couple of months, according to 
  35. them. The external drive setup they make is quite reliable and sturdy (if
  36. not rugged) and that would be my recommendation (if you can wait....).
