  13. I've always noticed that the IIsi is pretty slow but I
  14. never knew how slow until I tried to do some work with
  15. Word 5.0 and Equation Editor.  Even with very simple 
  16. equations included in the text it slowed to a crawl.
  17. For example, typing the word "is" took 5 seconds to
  18. appear on the screen.  I tried everything I could think
  19. of (shutting off all extensions, setting monitor to black
  20. and white, changing cache setting) with little affect.

  22. I'm going home now to use my SE/30.  Even with tons of 
  23. extensions and two monitors (even with one running at 24 bits)
  24. my SE/30 is leaps and bounds faster.

  26. So what's the deal anyway? Both machines have the same processor
  27. and coprocessor and the clock speed is faster on the IIsi.
  28. But my SE/30 is considerably faster doing just about anything
  29. I've tried.
