- I've always noticed that the IIsi is pretty slow but I
- never knew how slow until I tried to do some work with
- Word 5.0 and Equation Editor. Even with very simple
- equations included in the text it slowed to a crawl.
- For example, typing the word "is" took 5 seconds to
- appear on the screen. I tried everything I could think
- of (shutting off all extensions, setting monitor to black
- and white, changing cache setting) with little affect.
-
- I'm going home now to use my SE/30. Even with tons of
- extensions and two monitors (even with one running at 24 bits)
- my SE/30 is leaps and bounds faster.
-
- So what's the deal anyway? Both machines have the same processor
- and coprocessor and the clock speed is faster on the IIsi.
- But my SE/30 is considerably faster doing just about anything
- I've tried.
