- HW> If anyone has had experience with LaCie external hard drives, your
- HW> thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated. I am in the market
- HW> to purchase a 100M- class drive for my IIcx, and have read a lot of
- HW> literature proclaiming LaCie drives as one of the best available. I
- HW> called LaCie, and their 100MB external is selling for $469. Does
- HW> anyone know of any other reliable (Quantum based!) external drives at
- HW> this size that beat that price? Also, are LaCie products only sold
- HW> direct from the company, like it seems, or do any of the mail-order
- HW> houses carry them? Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.
- Hugh: Despite what others might say,I think buying direct from LaCie is fine (I
- bought my external 100 ZFP that way and I'm very pleased with it). The only
- other thing I would say is use Alliance Power Tools to format it and NOT
- Silverlining (which is what it is formatted with as shipped.) Hope this
- helps-Mark S.
