- Could anyone please report on first-hand experience with the
- SupraFaxModem V.32? For example, do you experience failures
- of class 3 fax machines connecting to your fax?
-
- Also, what is the difference between the V.32bis and the V.32?
-
- Thanks, Thomas.

- I own the FAXmodem V.32bis. I haven't been able to try the fax portion
- yet as I don't have the software yet. However, I can answer the other
- question. V.32 = 9600 bps. V.32bis = 14,400 bps. This is raw speed,
- no compression. The V.42, V.42bis, and MNP5 are the compression
- standards. I guess there are FAX machines out there which will talk at
- 14.4Kbps, but I think most are 9600bps...
