- I'm considering buying a Dest personal scanner from the MacZone. It's a
- handheld scanner that can also be attached to a 10-sheet feeder, scans at
- 300dpi with 4 levels of gray, and costs about $650. It's actually a
- full-page scanner with an 8.5" wide scan, which is a big plus. It also
- comes with "Recognize OCR" software.
-
- Does anybody have experience with this scanner? How well does the OCR
- software work (e.g. does it require a lot of training and babysitting, or is
- it "plug and play")? How does it compare to Caere's Typist Plus Graphics
- scanner (which isn't full-page)?
-
- So, the Dest scanner looks like a good deal. Is it?
