- I did the upgrade about 2 years ago, and it went real smoothly.
- Inside are (this is my 2 year old recollection now) three
- little 24 (or so) pin connectors just beside the square 80387
- socket. The RAM comes on a board with an 90^o edge connector
- that fits into this socket and then hangs over the other guts.
- You just open it up, pop the memory board into place, and do a
- hard boot (with the button on the left). It knows how much ram
- is there from the intialization tests. You should see "something
- like: 640k 2340k extended" counting up when it reboots...
-
- As for what kind of memory to get (ie. whose to buy?), I looked
- around Pittsburgh where I was at the time, then called some
- places in NY. I wasn't all that impressed withthe prices. Finally
- I went to a little computer shop in my home town (New Kensington,Pa.)
- and they got me the 2M ram card for $219. I thought this was
- reasonable 2 years ago. It was some second party ram of course,
- Toshiba's price isn't even Borel summable.
-
- If you have more problems, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
