-
- No, OS/2 2.0 is NOT limited to 640x480.
-
- It's just that the standard drivers that come with OS/2 2.0 only
- support IBM "Standard" resolutions - CGA, EGA, VGA and 8514/A.
-
- (Might be Herc support too, but I've never bothered to check!)
-
- IBM expect display card companies to supply the OS/2 drivers
- (just as most of them do for Windows.)
-
- SVGA drivers are available for OS/2 for Trident (which I use) and
- Tseng SVGA cards. Some others are supported too. Get the FQL
- from comp.os.os2.misc.
-
- BTW WIN-OS/2, the "Full Screen" Windows system supplied with OS/2
- uses standard MS Windows 3.0 (not 3.1) drivers. If you have
- any card that has Win3.0 drivers, you can run WIN-OS/2 at any resolution.
- (ie. you can run PM sessions in, say 640x480, while waiting for
- your PM drivers and also have higher resolutions/numbers of colours
- in your WIN-OS/2 sessions.)
-
- Sorry, I don't know if there's support for the Orchid Fahrenheit 1280,
- but that might be on the FQL.
