  14. I have the 2000D, which has flat screen, digital controls (w/ memory)
  15. and is VESA compliant.  I think the regular 2000 doesn't have these
  16. last 2 features.  Overall, I like it.  The picture's a little fuzzy
  17. in the upper left corner (just enough so that individual pixels blend
  18. together in text mode).  Be careful about buying it mail-order; the
  19. first one I got had all kinds of convergence problems, so it cost me
  20. an extra $20 shipping to get a working one.  If you buy locally, you
  21. can at least keep taking it back until it works perfectly!  Brightness
  22. isn't very consistant between modes; 1024X768 and 640X480 are fine, but
  23. 800X600 is too dim; these are not saved between modes as the screen
  24. size is.  The contrast and brightness controls are right where you can
  25. get at them, though... no big deal.  There is no degauss button.

  28. It's cheaper, with about the same features.  Doesn't have a 1280X1024
  29. mode like the MAG does, though (OK for me since my card doesn't do
  30. that anyway).  There are only 3 or 4 places I found that sell them
  31. without a system.  Aberdeen has toll-free tech support, and had the
  32. cheapest price when I bought, but has been a real pain in the ass
  33. to deal with... they promised to pay shipping both ways in case of
  34. defects, then changed their policy to 1-way.  They also charged my
  35. credit card 1 month before actually shipping, and charge a surcharge
  36. if you use CC's (contrary to a local ad).  So, they may still have
  37. the cheapest price, but be forewarned!  I heard the MAG is going for
  38. $599, which is only slightly more than I paid... check out that deal
  39. (Treasure Chest?) too.
