- I'm trying to use fbackup to do a full backup of one 9000/730 (8.05)
- onto a DDS connected to a second 9000/730 (also 8.05). I'm having
- no success with the following:
-
- fbackup -0 -g /tmp/backuplist -f able.baker:/dev/rmt/0m
-
- After starting up, fbackup terminates with a message to the effect
- that there is no such machine as 'able.bake' known to it. When I
- try the IP number instead of the name, I get a similar termination
- message; machine '123.45.67' is not responding. (Specifying just
- 'able' is not sufficient for the nameserver.)
-
- The bottom line is that no matter what I specify as the remote machine
- name, fbackup seems to only pay attention to the first 9 characters of
- that name (or IP number).
-
- Is there some way to accomplish my goal of doing this remote backup?
