- Hi all,
-
- Novice question time again. :(
-
- We've configured a HP720 (HP-UX 8.07) to mount filesystem on HP 845S
- (HP-UX 8.00). I've made the uid and gid of the root entries the same on
- both machines. When I mount the filesystem and create a new file on
- this filesystem, I saw the owner is 65534 (nobody) but the group is
- okay (the same as those file created by root on the 845S, say admin).
- Then, on HP720 I chown the file to root, I've no access to the file
- again.
-
- I think I'm still "nobody" on the HP720 when I access the file. I
- remember a HP NFS course said the /etc/passwd and /etc/group should be
- the same for NFS file sharing. Since I haven't got the NFS manual, I've
- no idea of what's wrong with that, and how to solve the "problem". Can
- I create and modify NFS mounted files as if the files are local ones ?
-
- Would anyone pls help ? Thanks a lot !
