  30. 8.07 will suffice for the 720 at least.  What you'll need
  31. to do then is put in your .Xdefaults (or system-wide
  32. equivalent) the line

  36. If I remember correctly this was documented in 8.05
  37. hpterm man pages but didn't work until 8.07;
  38. as far as I know it still doesn't in s300/s400.    :-(

  40. In the meantime you can try to use xterm, which as of 8.0 can handle
  41. 8-bit characters.  Unfortunately it has another bug which makes it
  42. difficult to use with non-US keyboards (namely, one cannot enter
  43. characters with high bit zero with ExtendChar, which on some keyboards
  44. includes things like brackets and backslash ... creative use of
  45. xmodmap may help a little).

  47. BTW, hpterm is not the only client with this problem.
  48. At least datebook exhibits the same behaviour, and
  49. if there is a solution for it I'd like hear about it.
