- 8.07 will suffice for the 720 at least. What you'll need
- to do then is put in your .Xdefaults (or system-wide
- equivalent) the line

- If I remember correctly this was documented in 8.05
- hpterm man pages but didn't work until 8.07;
- as far as I know it still doesn't in s300/s400. :-(

- In the meantime you can try to use xterm, which as of 8.0 can handle
- 8-bit characters. Unfortunately it has another bug which makes it
- difficult to use with non-US keyboards (namely, one cannot enter
- characters with high bit zero with ExtendChar, which on some keyboards
- includes things like brackets and backslash ... creative use of
- xmodmap may help a little).

- BTW, hpterm is not the only client with this problem.
- At least datebook exhibits the same behaviour, and
- if there is a solution for it I'd like hear about it.
