- Source and executables (remember to use binary on ftp transfers) for
- a simple program to check whether your DEC5000/240 has serious problems with
- double precision computations is now available for anonymous ftp at
- vivace.msd.anl.gov (130.202.76.9) in pub/DECproblem. The executables
- were compiled with cc version 2.1 and f77 version 3.2.
-
- To use it:
-
- run "testr > output" and "testr > output2" and then do a diff of
- output and output2 - if they are identical your machine is ok (at
- least it doesn't have the problem ours has). If they are different,
- try just running testr2 - it should always give the same output. Then
- call your DEC hotline.
-
- I have already had one report of a machine with similar problems which
- passed the "testr" test, but they may have used a different compiler.
