  11. Source and executables (remember to use binary on ftp transfers) for
  12. a simple program to check whether your DEC5000/240 has serious problems with
  13. double precision computations is now available for anonymous ftp at
  14. vivace.msd.anl.gov (130.202.76.9) in pub/DECproblem. The executables
  15. were compiled with cc version 2.1 and f77 version 3.2.

  17. To use it:

  19. run "testr > output" and "testr > output2" and then do a diff of
  20. output and output2 - if they are identical your machine is ok (at
  21. least it doesn't have the problem ours has). If they are different,
  22. try just running testr2 - it should always give the same output. Then
  23. call your DEC hotline.

  25. I have already had one report of a machine with similar problems which
  26. passed the "testr" test, but they may have used a different compiler.
