  11. I have a DecStation 5000/120 running Ultrix 4.2a with a tkz10 tape drive.
  12. The question is, what is the tape density?  I've tried the following:

  14. I came up with the figures of 16000 and 22400 as density (bpi) and length (ft).
  15. You'll see that they work out to be 525MB.  When I do a dump I get the
  16. following on aurora (the DecStation).

  30. The partition is 800MB full out of 1.0Gig.
  31. Obviously 0.39 tapes is too little - it should be about 1.4 tapes.  I tried
  32. dumping rz0a like this and it worked fine - I could restore files.  But this
  33. means that the capacity of the tape is ~2.3 Gig!

  35. If I try with density of 358400 and length of 1000 which also works out to
  36. be 525 MB and I get the following:

  51. I try to do a rdump on terry (a SPARC ELC running 4.1.1) to aurora and I
  52. get the following:
