- Re. the C=128 video problems:
-
- I have a "flat" 128 with 16k video memory. I ran into an 80 col display
- problem just after buying the term pgm "Dialogue 128"; the demo would run,
- but the rev 2.2b locked up the screen with random garbage shown.
- Everything else that I tried in 80 col worked ok, even Pocket Writer II in
- 50 line mode!
-
- I was advised that there was an 8563 mod from commodore, so I found a
- dealer with the latest revision ( a story in itself! ). After installation
- of the 8563 R9 (I think it was a "D") ALL display problems dissappeared!
-
- This problem was covered in "Twin Cities 128", which is now being published
- by Parsec, owned by Jim Brown... JBEE on GEnie. I left him "E-mail" and he
- knew exactly what my trouble was right away! Much better than the
- commodore dealers who were trying to sell me their old revision 8563 chips!
