- I've just finished coding and testing a cool animation program for the C=64.
- The program consists of two parts; there is a "packer" which eats koala files
- and puts out a compressed datafile, then there is a "player" which sucks the
- compressed info up into the 17xx REU and plays it back in realtime. The entire
- package was written in Blazin' Forth with heavy assembler. Lots of thanks goes
- to Jim Patterson for helping out with the design/debuggery, and also to Scott
- Ballantyne for writing Blazin' Forth five years ago.
-
- Now for the amazing specs: The program can *probably* get 10 to 15 frames per
- second and store maybe 30 seconds of film in a 512K REU. I haven't generated
- the necessary 3 meg of koala pics yet to test this theory, but I'm working on
- yet another program to generate individual cels. I plan to put out a demo with
- just the player and a canned film as crippleware, then ask $20 for the whole
- package (i.e. also the packer, the source code, some more films, etc...)
