- I have an AT&T 3B2/600 with a CDC 150 Meg boot disk and a Maxtor
- XT-4380E that is having troubles with the root disk. I am trying to
- replace the CDC drive with another Maxtor XT-4380E and keep coming up with
- the same message after booting with the tape drive. The message is ERROR:
- No SCSI ROOT disk devices found
- Shutting the machine off...
-
- I have used fmthard with a file containing the partitioning information
- similar to what is currently listed for the CDC drive with increased space
- due to the bigger drive. I used /etc/newboot to load the boot files into
- partition 7, and labelit to label partition 0 as root and partition 2 as
- usr.
-
- Using the CDC drive as the boot volume and the Maxtor as the second disk in
- the system seems to work fine, as I can volcopy to partition 0, etc.
-
- Any thoughts or explanations of the error message and how to fix it?
-
- Thanks.
