- I recently installed a 4meg upgrade into my 1040ST. It's a tech-
- specialties board version 1.1 for a 1040 version 1 motherboard. Well, I
- have a 1040 version 3 motherboard. Anyways, after rebuilding the data and
- address lines, the only way to get my computer to boot up was to leave power
- to the old memory chips. I left the old memory chips in place, but had
- dissconnected all the data, address, and control lines, but they still need
- power for my computer to boot????? Also, when I turn on my computer, I
- have to press the reset button about five times before the system boots up,
- once booted, it works fine and passes all memory checks as long as the system
- is on. Go figure. Any ideas why?
- Thanks,
- Jonathan
