- This hardly makes sense. You are in fact saying that the very act of
- mentioning virus protection makes it a valid point. If the point was
- never brought in the first place, then no one would think of writing a
- virus. Is that what you are saying?

- Let's say we *do* get a new virus. How will you detect it? There are
- only a handful of Apple II virus scanners. The most recent strain that
- can be caught is probably years old (my guess). What are you going to use
- to catch a *new* virus? Are you going to scan every piece of software for
- phrases like "Sorry dudez, this way k00l virus just wiped yer hard drive!"?
- How about the incidence of known viruses spreading via cba2? When's the
- last time that happened? Until I get reasonable answers to all the above
- questions, virus scanning remains an invalid argument for moderation.
