- In comp.sys.apple2 you write:

- >: looked at the modem connector, I counted 19 pins.
-
- huh? all the IIc's I've seen (2) had a 5-pin MODEM cable.
- the 19-pin able was a disk drive port.
-
- >: Someone told me INMAC carries the cable. I called.
- >: They have a 9 pin variety.
-
- yeah -- does you no good. the 5-pin cables are still out there.
- Laser 128's use them too.
-
- I'm not sure what the IIe uses, but the IIgs and Mac are both the
- 9-pin mini DIN cable.
-
- >: She suggested that the connector I have is "pre-takeover"
- >: of apple, before the "standards" were adopted.
-
- well -- in a strange way. it's my impression that the 9-pin
- cables were taken in by apple for the mac. but other people use them
- as well.
-
- >: Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this
- >: odd connector size?
-
- yup.
-
- >: Can I change the connector?
-
- not likely.
