- I will assume that your friend doesn't want to get a Grappler or
- other parallel card, so that leaves only external hardware options. One
- product I've seen that works, and is available cheaply in the used market,
- is called the Logical Connection. It's a serial multiplexer with a couple
- parallel ports on it too, and with a little setup you have have your
- serial port running parallel printers, modems, null-modems, etc... It's an
- idea that might be worth looking into. There are also converters available
- as "switch boxes," sort of serial-in, parallel-out and serial-out. They
- both run close to a hundred dollars, or more if you add buffering.
