- Well, I was at the Kansasfest Expo, and Bill Heineman was showing off his
- latest game "Out of This World" which should be released shortly for the
- Super-NES and IIGS.
-
- It looks pretty neat, almost real-life kind of animations. You control
- a character, who basically runs around avoiding being killed. Bill also
- mentioned that by programming the SuperNintendo correctly, conversions to
- the GS are made much much easier. (I wouldn't expect an avalanche of
- games, though).
-
- Also on display was Time Lord by DreamWorld, sort of a neat Ultima style
- adventures-within-the-adventure kind of game. A young fellow named Mike
- Lutynski was showing his soon-to-be-released animation program "Anamasia"
- which does real-time animation on 2-D or 3-D objects. In fact, you can
- even import AutoCAD DXF objects and use them.
-
- After all the discussion bantering about how the GS can't use more than
- one program at time, those sneaky fellows from Procyon announced thier
- "Switch-It!" program, which loads mutliple 16-bit desktop programs ans
- allows you to move easily between them, much like LeapFrog, but not
- trying to run in the background. (Tim Meekins, thanks for showing this
- one to me.)
-
- Other nifty products worth mentioning: Lunar Production's "Foundation",
- which is a pretty powerful resource tool, ECON Technology's Pegasus
- internal hard drives (these are NICE, folks!!) and "Universe Master"
- hard drive utilities and file management software, Roger Wagner's
- HyperStudio, which is much more powerful than I thought, Pick'N'Pile
- game by Procyon, and for educators I really liked Kitchen Sink's
- "Amazing Window Gradesheet" (plus their "accudraw" bluprint and
- design software, which obliterates Design Your Own Home).
-
- I probably missed a few things, but these are the ones I recall the
- best, and impressed me the most.
