  22.     Look into getting a Novation Apple Cat modem. I see them for sale
  23. on the computer forsale groups once in a while (misc.forsale.computers and
  24. other local forsale groups)

  26.     To get a 1200 baud modem (uggh), it's actually a *two* card unit.
  27. So I'm hypothesizing that the main unit is basically just a serial card. If
  28. you could get the pinouts on the connector, I presume you could build a
  29. 9600 or faster modem to connect to it (or possibly connect an external
  30. modem to it?? doubtful)

  32.     But anyway, besides the modem capabilities, this device does touch
  33. tone generation/recognition and speech synthesis.  There is a wonderful demo
  34. disk that comes with it that does a lot of different sound effects (the
  35. only one that comes to mind is the British phone ringing)
