- I hate to tell you this bud, but there is VERY LITTLE in this world that is
- impossible. One of the things that makes the IBM Amiga emulator impossible is
- that an IBM's Disk Controller cannot read and Amiga formatted disk, thus it
- can't read a kickstart file off of one. There are ways around this of course,
- but not in the fasion that the emulator claims to work.
-
- It is NOT, however, impossible to emulate the amiga custom chipset. Given a
- 386 or so, it might even be able to do so at a decent fraction of the speed a
- that the real chipset works (course you wouldn't be able to do much else).
- Using an MMU would especially facilitate matters by remapping custom chip
- adresses to sofware routines that do the particular jobs.
-
- Granted, things like the copper would be especially difficult to emulate
- PROPERLY, but you get get a facsimile that at least would work, just not give
- all the effects your used to.
