- I believe that the ad that you are referring to is the one for the
- Asimware Asim-CDFS. I recently purchased both the file system and a
- Chinon CDS-431 internal drive from Asimware, and after some initial
- problems I'm pleased with both (my problems were due to an old version
- of the ROMS on my GVP SCSI controller). The drive and software are
- compatible with all my hardware and software (A-2000, GVP '030
- accelerator, Dos 2.04, Directory Opus, etc..). I have used it to access
- the AB-20 CD0ROM, and the file system also reads MAC HFS disks as
- advertised. CDTV disks might be a problem, as a lot of those depend on
- specific hardware in the CDTV - there was no list of compatible CDTV
- titles available last time I asked. I'm impressed by the speed of the
- drive and software - I haven't noticed myself waiting much longer to get
- data off the CD-ROM than I do off my Quantum.
-
- I believe the people at Asimware are still working to expand the list of
- drives which qualify for use with Asim-CDFS, so your best bet is to call
- them to get the latest list. The staff there has been really helpful,
- and they can let you know exactly what you need to do to get things up
- and running.
