  13.    8 flashes on a ST296N means that the drive couldn't load the ram code
  14.  from the media, eg. the platter.  Looks like I've got a *REAL BAD* bad
  15.  spot on the drive.  Or the electronics could be messed up also.  We'll
  16.  have to see.
