  38. I had similar problems but in the reverse direction.  I couldn't read
  39. the fish tapes [written by an Amiga] on my SGI or RS/6000.  Turns out
  40. there was a compatability issue in the directory header of the tar
  41. image.  I ended up building GNU tar on my SGI and was then able to read
  42. the tapes.  I'd guess that you need a newer version of tar for the Amiga.
  43. GNU tar should work just fine.
