  11. RCS for MSDOS Problem when running on a Novell File Server:

  13. I am trying to run RCS5.5 as ported to MSDOS by Stuart Phillips
  14. (stu@tandem.com) on a Novell file server (Netware V3.10 for Dos 5.0) and
  15. get the  following message when checking in the file 'SOURCE.S' the
  16. first time (and after entering the initial log message):

  18. ci error: RCS\SOURCE.S%V: Permission denied
  19. ci error: saved in RCS\%SOURCE.s%
  20.  
  21. The RCS subdirectory exists and I have no problems creating files in it
  22. other than with RCS.  The saved file '%SOURCE.S%' does exist, but is not 
  23. reckognized as a valid RCS file when trying to to a checkout.

  25. The same procedure performs faultlessly if run on the harddisk of my PC.

  28. Anybody able (and willing) to help?

  30. (I am also looking for a way to have a RCS directory other than a RCS 
  31. subdirectry so that more than one person can work on the software under
  32. control, creating a DOS environment variable 'RCSDIR' does not seem do to
  33. anything).
