  18. I just updated software engineering reference book list
  19. "SE.references.????92" (where ????92 is modification date in european
  20. format). It is a 7-bit ASCII text file (size about 178 kb) made with
  21. emacs. 
  22.  
  23. The list can be accessed via anonymous ftp from machine "cs.tut.fi"
  24. (130.230.4.2) from directory "pub/tut". 
  25.  
  26. The list contain ONLY books, not articles. References are NOT sorted
  27. by subject, but only by author's name in alphabetical order. (Yes, I
  28. know that it would be more useful, if it would be sorted by subject,
  29. but I don't have time to do such sorting, sorry.)

  31. There are references about software engineering in general, e. g.
  32. databases, project management, quality, CASE-tools, object-oriented
  33. techniques and object-oriented programming languages. 
  34.  
  35. There are no, or few, references about user interfaces, artifical
  36. intelligence, conventional programming languages and communications.
  37.  
  38. There are some abbreviations in the end of some lines. They have the
  39. following meaning
  40.  <SF> = reference is in finnish
  41.  <D> = reference is in german
  42.  <S> = reference is in swedish. 
  43.  
  44. The best way you can take advantage of the list is to keep it on file
  45. and use e.g. 'grep' command for finding interesting references. (It
  46. doesn't make sense to print the whole list, I think.)
