- Can someone help me find robots!
-
- The Tech Museum of Innovation is a hands on museum that displays advanced
- technology to the general public. Similar to the Exploritorium in
- San Francisco.
- There are six areas that the museum is currently exhibiting, these are;
- Astronomy, Material Sciences, Bicycles, MicroElectronics, Biotechnology and
- Robotics. The Museum is located in Downtown San Jose, Silicon Valley.
-
- Every so often the Museum has fund raising events. This time they will be
- putting on a theatrical show. One part of the show will be to use some
- industrial robots in a choreographed ballet.
-
- The problem I am faced with is that I need to find out where I can borrow some
- robots to help put on the show. The person who is choreographing the show
- is Margo Apostolos, she has about 10 years of experience doing this sort of
- robot dance, but she does not have access to any robots.
-
- Generally, I would summarize the robot needs as follows:
-
- 1. Three or Four industrial robotic arms with teach pendants and computer.
- 2. Robots should have five or more degrees of freedom.
- 3. Robots should be electric.
-
- The specific type of robots that I am looking for are PUMA 760 or 560,
- U.S. Robot Maker 110 or 100, Robotics Research Corporation robots K1207
- or K2107. But any robot with the above constraints will work.
-
- If any one can loan these types of robots, or knows somebody who can, please
- send e-mail to pkenny@ads.com or call me (Partick Kenny) at 415-960-7537 or
- (Dick King) at The Tech Center, 408-279-7167 to discuss this in more detail.
-
- I would prefer that any robots be located in the Bay area, but that is not
- a limitation.
-
- The relationship I have with the Tech Museum is that I volunteer my time
- to help promote the technology amongst the people. This is not an advertisement
- to go to the Tech Museum, but it is a lot of fun.
-
- Thanks for any help or leads!
