We don't practice control but do track when software is being used. We could
easily start control if needed. We do this using batch files (for DOS programs)
and batch runner (from Norton) files (for Windows Apps). We use a specially
mounted partition that had perms for write only for anyone. The batch files
append logging data to the end of a logging file for each machine.
