- In comp.protocols.ibm you write:

- several companies make adapters to MAU to increase the number of
- nodes attached to the MAU; as a fallout of this, some of these
- adapters can be used without a MAU to connect two nodes. RAD is
- the only company I can think of now; I don't have their number
- but you can try the directory assistance for 800 numbers. Make
- sure you ask for the model which can be used without the MAU.
-
- Hope this helps.

- Re: TokenRing format specs; the Technical Reference for Token-Ring
- Network PC Adapter provides programming information for the token
- ring interface (originally TOKREUI, currently LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM)
- as well as direct interface to the TokenRing adapter hardware.
- This also contains just a tad of information regarding the adapter
- hardware itself as well as the Adapter Cable pin details.
-
- If you are looking for Token-Ring frame specs (specifically
- MAC and LLC frame layouts and protocol details) you will need
- the IBM Token-Ring Architecture Reference Manual.
-
- The former manual is usually available at PC dealers (selling
- IBM T/R adapter) and IBM Direct; the latter is available only
- from IBM Direct.
