  19.   To avoid any misunderstanding I would like to emphasize that C* is
  20. just one input to the ANSI parallel C standardization process.  A
  21. number of companies and individuals, including Thinking Machines and
  22. MasPar, are involved in the process.  C* will be an important
  23. influence, but it is by no means a "defacto standard".
