  12. We are in a budget "crunch" here and so I am trying to figure out the 
  13. cheapest way to purchase a DAT tape drive(s) for our 6000-320 and MicroVAX 
  14. 3100 - not that I wouldn't be anyway :). I want our backups to be quality 
  15. though - I don't want to set up something that I have any doubts about. We 
  16. are currently running with 9 track drives and are up to about 30 6250 bpi 
  17. tapes on full backups.

  19. The cheapest way that I can think of to accomplish this is to purchase a 
  20. DAT drive, hook it up via SCSI on our MicroVAX, and then access it remotely 
  21. from the 6000-320 via a remote tape program. I've heard that Remote Tape 
  22. Facility developed by Touch Technologies may be what we are looking for 
  23. in this scenario.

  25. Is anyone else doing something along these lines? Does this sound like the 
  26. optimum solution? Thanks ...
