- We are in a budget "crunch" here and so I am trying to figure out the
- cheapest way to purchase a DAT tape drive(s) for our 6000-320 and MicroVAX
- 3100 - not that I wouldn't be anyway :). I want our backups to be quality
- though - I don't want to set up something that I have any doubts about. We
- are currently running with 9 track drives and are up to about 30 6250 bpi
- tapes on full backups.
-
- The cheapest way that I can think of to accomplish this is to purchase a
- DAT drive, hook it up via SCSI on our MicroVAX, and then access it remotely
- from the 6000-320 via a remote tape program. I've heard that Remote Tape
- Facility developed by Touch Technologies may be what we are looking for
- in this scenario.
-
- Is anyone else doing something along these lines? Does this sound like the
- optimum solution? Thanks ...
