- The default pointers are hard-coded into the DISPLAY.DLL file. How do
- I know? After installing the ATI 800x600 driver, my pointer changed
- from black to white, and the "wait" pointer changed from a clock to an
- hourglass. In other words, the default pointers became the OS/2 1.3
- pointers (this IS a 1.3 driver...)
-
- If you can change the pointer resource in DISPLAY.DLL, you can change
- the system pointer. You might be able to use dentist.exe along with
- rc.exe to extract the resources from it, modify the pointer with
- iconedit, and then re-link them. Of course, you'd have to do this
- with a copy, since DISPLAY.DLL will be in-use the entire time.
-
- After the patching, replace DISPLAY.DLL with your DISPLAY.DLL, and
- reboot.
-
- This is all at your own risk. I don't know if your system will even
- be useable after all this.
