- Thanks to the kind folks who provided all the tips on getting the ET4000
- to work. Here's what my problem was: I had originally installed OS/2
- using a different VGA, and then dropped in an ET4000 card. Then I installed
- the VSVGA fix from IBM, and I still had the 'lose sync' problem.
-
- Turns out, if you just swap hardware behind OS/2's back, you have to
- fix up the assumptions made during the install; specifically (in my case)
- I had to change a line in CONFIG.SYS from
-
- DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VVGA.SYS
-
- to
-
- DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS
-
- Now - does anyone know if you have to change the WPS Display driver,
- and to what do you change it.
-
- I've already loaded up about 30 meg of software, so I'm not into trying
- to reinstall!
