- I have a rather curious problem. I use a PS/2 model 90 at work with a 5.25"
- 1.2mb drive as drive B. It works fine with 1.2mb disks, but can't read
- 360k floppies under OS/2 for some reason...keeps coming up with cyclic
- redundancy errors. So I thought "no biggie" and quickly ftped the 360K fix
- from hobbes. Upon unzipping, I found a file called ibm1flpy.add (I think
- that's how it is). The readme said to place this file in place of the file
- with the same name in the os2 directory. Here's the wierd part: My PS/2
- model 90 (486/33) does not have a file called ibm1flpy.add! It's called
- ibm2flpy.add! (that's a 2 instead of a 1 for you non-careful readers). So
- I thought I'd just replace the ibm2flpy.add with the new ibm1flpy.add and
- try it that way. No luck...all floppy access became impossible. I also
- tried just leaving it in the os2 dir with the name intact (ibm1flpy.add) but
- this didn't work either! Any suggestions?
-
- By the way, OS/2 is VERY stable on the PS/2 90. I have not had a single
- crash in about a week of continuous use. This is in sharp contrast to the
- numerous crashes I experienced on my personal machine. I am now awaiting
- my new machine so I am looking forward to trying OS/2 on it (I traded in
- my 486/50 local bus for a 486/50 EISA with an Orchid EISA Prodesigner IIs
- card).
-
- Thanks for the help...
