- Well, I (and many others) have been going through an interesting ritual on
- the Iomega forum on CI$ lately . . .
-
- (me) Okay, it's the [insert random date here]; where are the drivers? They
- were promised by now.
-
- (Iomega sysop) Well, they've all been pulled in from the beta sites several
- weeks ago, and we're waiting for Marketing to decide what to do.
-
- (outraged masses) WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE???!!!!
-
- (repeat once a week for 2.5 months)
-
- To sum up, the Iomega sysop on CI$ (Ron somebody, don't remember the last name
- right now) says that the drivers are finished, have been for several weeks, but
- the large wigs got involved and are delaying the release while Marketing figures
- out what to do with them. Initial rumors were that the drivers would be free
- on Iomega's bulletin board and other forums, but latest is that Iomega will
- charge $10-$20 plus media costs. Nobody really knows. Apparently, Iomega had
- a similar fiasco over OS/2 1.x drivers and those who went through that are
- worried that the same is happening here.
-
- A few beta reports have leaked out on CI$, however, and if they are accurate,
- the drivers will support FAT and HPFS.

- NOT!!! But call and bitch heavily about the situation, though.
