- Well, after recently having OS/2 crash and refuse to boot... claiming it
- was missing a DLL it needed, I'd say that OS/2 needs a utility that lets
- you re-load some of the necessary files from the distribution disks. In
- fact, going a step further, they could have the file look at some sort of
- error-log and figure out for itself what files needed to be reloaded.
-
- In fact, best of all would be if the program automatically ran whenever
- OS/2 ran into a problem booting.
-
- It would have saved me (and countless others, I'm sure) from having to
- reinstall the thing again from scratch.
-
- It amazes me that IBM really 'went the extra mile' in so many places, yet
- falls so short in others. I mean... look at the migration utilitiy database
- file. That thing recognizes TONS of stuff. It even recognized Wing
- COmmander II and a bunch of stuff from the Windows Entertainment pack. Yet,
- when it comes to restoring system integrity on the hard disk... they didn't
- seem to make much allocation for it. (If so, the pample... er... manuals
- don't say anything about them.
