- Hi,
-
- I'm trying to install OS/2-2.0 and run into a problem. During the
- installation of disk 1, the OS/2 logo (the colored circles) is shown. It
- then prints "Loading, please wait.." and then gives me the following
- error:
-
- The system detected an internal processing
- error at location ##0160:fff6453f - 000d:a53f
- 60000,9084
-
- 04860064
- Internal revision 6.307, 92/03/01
-
- Configuration:
- 486DX/33, 8Mb RAM, 256Kb cache, AMI BIOS 06/06/91
- 2 x 102Mb Seagate ST3120A IDE + 3 1/2" A: + 5 1/4" B:
- SVGA TSENG-4000/1Mb (also tried with Trident 8900c/1Mb)
- [ I have DR-DOS 6.0 installed on C: (= first partition on first disk) ]
- [ Have Unix (= Linux) installed on second partition on first disk and on ]
- [ second disk. My second partition is the active one. ]
-
- I called the OS/2 service helpdesk with this problem, but at that time
- I thought I had Connor drives (a misunderstanding between me and the
- computer store). The helpdesk claimed this problem was caused by the
- cache on the Connor IDE-drive. The solution would be to disable the
- cache, install OS/2 and enable the cache again.
-
- My questions:
- - Does the Seagate ST3120A also have a cache?
- - If yes, how do I disable/enable it?
- - Or is my problem caused by something entirely different?
-
