- Well, I have a casual observance which I'm not sure actually means anything
- beyond being a coincidence ...
-
- I've had the above problem recently occur, but only once. I've been
- running OS/2 for about 3 months now and haven't had a problem. Another thing
- that occurred several times is that I got "Not enough memeory to start program"
- windows popup on the WP when trying to run a program or open a folder despite
- the fact that I had about 20Meg free for swap (swap file was around 11 meg
- at the time).
-
- The only thing that I've done different recently is obtained about 1200 icons
- from GEnie and started assigning them to various programs in setup. I've
- read here there's problems with too many icons in 1 folder so I separated them
- in subdirectories. I've noticed that the first few times I open these icon
- folders, all the icons display correctly. But, if I continue opening and
- closing icon folders, a subset of the icons in the folder start to not
- display correctly (they're just displayed as a file and not the icon itself).
-
- Seems like this is when I start having memory problems, the swap file gets
- bigger, and perhaps is associated with the WPS not responding on boot.
-
- As I said might be just a coincidence, but there definitely seems to be a
- bug in OS/2 that concerns the icons ...
