- Best way I've found so far to get global aliases loaded at startup is to
- create a STARTUP.CMD file in the root directory of your boot drive, with
- the following:

- \4os2\shralias
- alias /r \4os2\aliases

- Substitute the appropriate path for the shralias program (supplied with
- 4OS2) and your alias file.

- As for SUBST, I don't believe that this works in OS/2 at all, though it
- does work in a VDM. SUBST, JOIN and APPEND are all potentially
- hazardous commands--they lie to the system about what's going on, and
- things can get very confused. Personally, I *really* wish that OS/2 had
- hard and soft links, which would remove the need for these wierd DOS
- commands, and would provide additional functionality as well.
